Cristin is excited to be performing alongside fellow Write Bloody authors Derrick Brown & Anis Mojgani in an evening celebrating Austin’s own Foxing Quarterly. Cristin is excited to have a new poem, “The Telling,” in the latest issue of the Dressing Room Poetry Journal, alongside Bloof Books’s Danielle Pafunda & Sibling Rivalry Press’s Megan Volpert, among others! For the third year in a row, Cristin will be attending and performing at the AWP Conference, which is being held this year in Boston. Cristin is honored to be on of four poets spotlighted in Taylor Mali’s PAGE MEETS STAGE reading. Cristin joins Martín Espada, Aimee Nezhukumatathil and Reginald Gibson at this unique show, which will be held in Room 306, Level 3 of the conference on Friday March 8th at 10:30am (for more information, please click here). Cristin will give a book signing at the Write Bloody Publishing table at the AWP Book Fair directly the reading at 12:30pm. Also on Friday, Cristin will be a featured reader at the Gulf Coast/Bat City Review event at the David Friend Recital Hall on Friday the 8th at 8:30pm, alongside some amazing poets, such as Jeffrey McDaniel, Matt Hart, Darcie Dennigan and Timothy Donnelly, among others. On Saturuday, Cristin will be co-hosting (with WB founder, Derrick Brown) and performing at the Write Bloody Publishing showcase on Saturday March 9th at 8pm. The show is being held at the Community Church of Boston, which includes such powerhouse WB poets a Buddy Wakefield, Anis Mojgani, Taylor Mali, Jeanann Verlee and Mindy Nettifee among others! Cristin is honored & excited to be returning to the venue she founded at age 19: the NYC-Urbana Poery Slam! Cristin will be performing a feature set on Tuesday March 5th, which is a semifinals night for Urbana. The show will begin at 7pm with an open mic, then Cristin will feature, and then a sure-to-be electrifying slam will follow! Cristin is thrilled to be invited to be a part of the Mutter Museum’s kick-off event for a year of celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Mutter Museum. Events will kick off at 10am at the museum, and Cristin will be giving a forty-five talk about the life & times of Thomas Dent Mutter at 1pm. Cristin is honored to be returning to the famous Y Bar (391 north street, Pittsfield, Mass) in Pittfield, Massachusetts for a feature poetry set — her first local feature since becoming the writer-in-residence at the Amy Clampitt House. During her sixth month term as the writer-in-residence at the Amy Clampitt House, Cristin is excited to be exploring the local arts and writing communities in Lenox, Mass. Hence she was really thrilled to be invited to be a calibration poet at the Poetry Slam at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. The event will run from 7:30pm to 10pm, at a TBD location. Cristin is deeply honored to be starting her term at the Writer-in-Residence at the Amy Clampitt House in Lenox, Massachusetts. Cristin will be the sole resident of the Clampitt House, “a charming, fully furnished, 3-bedroom, 2-story house in the Cape style.” The residency, for which Cristin’s term will last from Feb 11 thru Aug 5th, seeks to “benefit poetry and the literary arts by converting Amy Clampitt’s prior residence . . . into a facility which would provide for a place to foster the study and promotion of poetry and/or a poet in residence.” Cristin will be using the residency to finish her manuscript for The Year of New Mistakes, her sixth book of poetry forthcoming in Fall 2013 on Write Bloody Publishing.← Older posts Newer posts →
