screenwriting:
Cristin currently has three screenplay in her portfolio. The modern comedies, Joob and Laurel and Matt, as well as her historical non-fiction screenplay, Mutter.
Mutter, which recently won a Sloan Fellowship which will allow Cristin to attend the prestigious 2004 Hamptons International Film Festival's Screenwriters Conference, tells the true story of Thomas Dent Mutter, the founder and namesake of Philadelphia's infamous medical oddities museum. Practicing medicine in pre-Civil War Philadelphia, this flamboyant beautiful young genius's obsession with the severely disfigured helped to revolutionize medicine and plastic surgery as we know it today, as well as creating a bizarre and immense collection of medical oddities that continues to remain unrivaled. Mutter's HIFF Sloan Fellowship has also enabled Cristin to participate in the 2005 Sloan Film Summit being held in NYC this October by the Tribeca Film Institute. Previously, the screenplay won the 2003 Philadelphia Film Festival Grand Prize for Screenwriting and placed in the top 10% in the both 2004 Nicholls Fellowship and 2004 Austin Film Festival Screenplay competitions. Not to be outshined by his serious-minded little brother, Cristin's first screenplay, Joob, recently finished as a semi-finalist both the PAGE Screenwriting Awards and in the "Expose It!" Comedy Screenwriting Competition, which is designed to give exposure undiscovered comedy writers.
