Cristin is absolutely thrilled to be hitting the road for most of Fall 2014, and giving performances / readings in Philadelphia, NYC, Austin, Columbus, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Minneapolis, Omaha, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver among other places! If you are in the area, please come on out!

Craft Talk at the Kelly Writer House (University of Pennsylvania)

Cristin will be giving a craft talk about her year as the 2010-2011 ArtsEdge Writer-in-Residence at the University of Pennsylvania.

Feature at the NYC-Urbana Poetry Slam in NYC
Cristin thrilled to be returning to her home venue of NYC-Urbana, which Cristin founded when she was 19-year-old. There will be an open mike, Cristin’s feature (15-20 minutes) and then the first open slam of their season!

Craft Talk at Mercer College
Cristin will be delivering a noon-time talk at the Mercer College, where she “will share her tips and strategies for pursuing a career in the arts while still working a 9-5. Using stories from her life, and sharing some of her work, Aptowicz will show how you can turn your passion for creating into a career without ever having to sacrifice the job that puts food on your table… until, that is, you are ready to make that leap.”

Book Talk at the Morbid Anatomy Museum in Brooklyn
Cristin will be delivering a talk at the newly opened Morbid Anatomy Museum in Brooklyn about the story of Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter (1811-1859), the man behind Philadelphia’s iconic Mütter Museum. Brilliant, ambitious, and so flamboyantly outspoken that a student once described him as the “[P.T.] Barnum of the surgery room,” Mütter was a revolutionary figure whose compassion-based philosophies and passion for helping the severely deformed clashed with the constraints of his time.
