Cristin will be speaking on “Theory of Color” by Johann van Goethe at the third incarnation of the wonderfully mad Providence Encyclopedia Show. The show, which is curated by the irrepressibly funny poet Megan Thoma, brings together writers and performers of all ages to speak on various & strange themed topics. Other performers include Sarah Kay, Erich Hagan, Tony Brown, Mckendy Fils-Aime and Alex Charalambides. The show starts at 8pm and will be held at Brown University’s MacMillan 117 Hall. Cristin is extremely honored to be making her debut at the famous Cantab Poetry Slam. One of the most respected venues in the Poetry Slam community (and curated by the absolutely fantastic Simone Beaubien), the show starts at 8pm with an open mic, featured poet and poetry slam. Cristin is thrilled to be performing a feature set at the Berklee College of Music in Boston on Tues Nov 9. The feature will take place at 7 Havliand, room 306 on the 3rd floor. Show begins at 7pm with a brief open mike, then a slam, and then closes out with the feature poet. Please

Cristin is excited to be attending the premier of Sarah Kay’s one-woman show “Square One,” which is enjoying it’s NYC debut on Monday Nov 8th as a part of the United Solo Festival. The show was Kay’s senior thesis project Brown, and is described as “an homage to the work of writer Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz… a quiet story set in New York City. It is part love letter, part crossword puzzle. Cristin is thrilled to be reading at (pal and La Petite Zine editor) Melissa Broder‘s Polestar Reading Series in Brooklyn on Sunday Nov 7th. Cristin will be performing alongside poets Aaron Fagan and Garrett Kalleberg, The Show starts at 6pm, at happens at the wonderful Cakeshop (152 Ludlow Street) in NYC’s Lower East Side. Cristin will be performing poetry (with special guests) and serving up some of her delish pumpkin chili on Tues Nov 2nd at 6pm at a FREE show at UPenn’s Kelly Writers House. A popular New York City slam poet, Cristin will be performing both solo and multi-voice poems (with special guests!). Cristin is thrilled to be hosting the Oct 27th edition of Page Meets Stage, featuring two of her favorite contemporary poets — Kevin Young and Scotts Woods — trading poetry back and forth in an effort to find a common dialogue between the page and the stage. Cristin is thrilled to be joining Derrick Brown, Buddy Wakefield and Anis Mojgani on the Night Kite Poetry Revivial tour, the fourth of their annual Poetry Revival tours. Cristin will performing at MIT, Dartmouth, Boston University, Fairfield Theatre (CT), Lake Telemark Country Club and University of Pennsylvania (10.12.10 – 10.18.10). In her article, “A Night of Loud Poetry,” SUNY Freedonia student Jessica Yu did a wonderful job of reporting on Cristin’s campus visit, which included a craft talk and a performance, handily balancing the audience reaction, the history of the poetry slam, Cristin’s personal history and future goals, and odd quotes from Cristin here (including one paraphrasing of Goethe!).
