Cristin will be performing at the Bowery Women reading
Cristin is performing alongside other poets from the Bowery Women anthology, including Janice Erlbaum, Lynne Procope, Rachel McKibbens and Tara Betts, among others. Cristin announced as Runner Up for RATTLE’s Neil Postman Award for Metaphor
In honor and remembrance of Neil Postman, the Editors of the literary journal Rattle award a Neil Postman Award for Metaphor to a poem which has appeared in the journal to “reward a given writer for his or her use of metaphor.” Cristin was thrilled to hear that her poem, “At the Office Holiday Party,” was the runner-up for this year’s award. Poetry by Cristin appears in the “DirtyDirty Issue” of The Legendary
Cristin is thrilled that three of her poems from the book, “Hot Teen Slut” (reissue forthcoming on Write Bloody Publishing in 2010) have been published in the “DirtyDirty” issue of The Legendary alongside deliciously smutty poems by Megan Thoma, Nicole Homer and xTx. Cristin will be competing at the Women of the World Poetry Slam
Cristin is thrilled to be representing NYC-Urbana the Women of the World Poetry Slam (WOWps) (March 11 – 13), happening this year in Columbus, OH. Cristin will be joining dozens of women poets from around this country for this festival of spoken word. Cristin’s Poem “Ode To My Morning Cup of Coffee” Debuts on the IndieFeed Performance Poetry Podcast
Cristin is proud to be to have her tenth poem appear on the IndieFeed Performance Poetry Podcast, with this recording made at the Junkyard Ghost Revival Show at Dartmouth last Fall. Cristin to host Vox Ferus “Getting Ink” workshop
From the Vox Ferus mailing: “Are you interested in getting your poetry published in magazines, journals, and the like? Vox Ferus is proud to partner with Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz to offer a workshop designed to help you get your work out into the world in print. Topics discussed will include research resources and techniques, cover letter development, and how to select poems for submission. Poets working in all styles are welcome, including humorous work, traditional forms, performance-focused writing, and more. Cristin to perform with Shappy at his Green Mill B-Day feature
Cristin is happy to help Shappy celebrate his big 4-1 at the birthday place of the Poetry Slam, the Green Mill lounge in Chicago. Poetry Slam creator Marc Smith will helm the evening, and Cristin will be performing solo, as well as doing some of her & Shap’s duets.
