Cristin to Perform FREE SHOW with Sage Francis
Cristin will be joining fellow NYC-Urbana poets Taylor Mali and Shappy Seasholtz as opening acts for Sage Francis’s Free NYC show on May 5th. The show, which celebrated the work of artist Sarah Coleman, will take place at the Chelsea Market Art Gallery from 6:00 PM til 8:45 PM. 300 person capacity. First come first serve.ALL AGES.
Cristin performs with Bucky Sinister, Shappy & Rachel McKibbens
Cristin will be joining San Francisco’s own Bucky Sinister, as well her NYC poetry cohorts Shappy Seasholtz and Rachel McKibbens for a reading at Bluestockings at 7pm. For more information, please see the Bluestockings website found here.
Cristin’s to Perform at Urbana’s ‘Win and You’re In” Regionals
Cristin will join teammates Shappy Seasholtz, Rives and Jeanann in defending Urbana’s honor at the ‘Win and You’re In’ Regionals held tonight at the BPC. The Urbana Team will face off against teams from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and Bar 13 for bragging rights and points towards sending at team to the 2007 National Poetry Slam, held this year in Austin, TX. Cristin’s “Snips for Tips” Returns for the BPC’s “Pisces Party”
Cristin will chopping heads at the BPC’s annual “Pisces Party,” which celebrates the many Feb and March birthdays of the BPC Staff — of which, Shappy is one (2/28)! The show will most likely feature the Brief View of the Hudson, the Gigglefits, Matt Lydon, Jollyship the Whizban plus SHAPPY AND THE FAMILY SHAP! Plus, excellent new haircuts by Cristin herself! Cristin to Perform at Patricia Smith Book Release Party
Cristin is thrilled to be celebrating Patricia Smith’s amazing new book of poetry, Teahouse of the Almighty at the Hudson Valley Writer’s Center in upstate NY. Cristin joins fellow poets Radhiyah Ayobami, Tara Betts, Douglas Goetsch, Rich Villar as well as the poetry diva Ms. Smith herself in an afternoon performance in Sleepy Hollow. Cristin to Perform at Beau Sia’s “what?!: incantations for ’07.”
Cristin will be performing at a unique event Beau Sia has put the event together titled “what?!: incantations for ’07.” The show will be hosted by Beau and feature performances by Regie Cabico, Celena Glenn, John S. Hall, Suheir Hammad, Lemon, Marty McConnell, George McKibbens, Willie Perdomo and Shappy, among others. The shoe starts 10pm and just just $7 at the door. Cristin to host Urbana iWPS Finals
Come one, come all to the NYC-Urbana iWPS Finals hosted by Cristin and Shappy. The show — which pits some of the country’s best performance poets against each other — starts at 7:15pm, but show up early for good seats and a surprise performance by uber-nerd poets extraordinaire Mike McGee and Robbie Q.
