Cristin To Be Performing Several Times During AWP 2014
Cristin is very excited to be attending the 2014 AWP conference. She is one of the readers at the official AWP event celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Write Bloody Publishing, alongside Write Bloody founder & chief, Derrick Brown, as well as other WB authors: Jon Sands, Brendan Constantine and Mindy Nettifee (Saturday Morning, 9am). She will also be in THREE evening performances: the WRITE BLOODY SHOWCASE on Thursday evening (Feb 27; Re-Bar 7pm); the LITERARY DEATH MATCH on Friday evening (Feb 28; Lucid Bar, 9:30pm); and the SARAH KAY & CRISTIN O’KEEFE APTOWICZ BOOK RELEASE (March 1; St Mark’s Cathedral BLOEDEL HALL; 1245 10th Avenue East 8pm) Here latest book, The Year of No Mistakes, will be available so please come on by & visit her!
Cristin to Perform in NYC
Cristin is thrilled to be returning to our old hometown for New York City for several special gigs. First up, on Weds Jan 22nd, The Year of No Mistakes will be enjoying its first official book release at Brooklyn’s Greenlight bookstore. Cristin will be reading alongside Aziza Barnes, Cynthia Lowen, and Kamilah Aisha Moon in this free series curated by the amazing Angel Nafis. For more information, click here. Cristin & Derrick Brown perform on Friday the 13th at Write Bloody Store
Cristin will be celebrating Friday the 13th at the Write Bloody Store in Austin, TX, with her publisher and pal, Derrick Brown. It’s a FREE EVENT and will be running from 4pm – 6pm! Here’s more info from the event page: “What could possibly be a BETTER WAY to spend your Friday the 13th early evening the earning some GOOD LUCK at the Write Bloody Publishing store in Austin! Cristin to Perform at BookWoman
Cristin is super excited to be reading at Austin’s own feminist indie bookstore, BookWoman, alongside Laurie Filipelli (author of Elseplace) and Laurie Saurborn Young (author of Carnavoria and the forthcoming Industry of Brief Distraction. Cristin Nominated for a Pushcart Prize
Cristin is deeply honored that Write Bloody Publishing, which publishes all six of Cristin’s poetry books, has nominated her poem, “Your Wife,” from her recently released book, The Year of No Mistakes for a Pushcart Prize. Cristin to Perform at CAP Anniversary Party
It’s been precisely one year since the launch of CAP magazine, and they are celebrating with a big reading at Frito Pie Cuntry, Friday, November 22nd. Show starts at 8pm & it’s BYOB. There will be readings by Cristin, as well as Write Bloody Founder Derrick Brown , Amy Saul-Zerby and Josh Boyd as well as live music by Harvest Thieves and Carpetbagger, among others. Cristin to be Judge at the Texas Book Fest’s Literary Death Match
Cristin is pumped to jumping lit icon AM Homes and NY-Times best-selling author Jacob Tomsky as judges for the Literary Death Match being held at the Texas Book Fair. Competitors include Jonathan Lethem, Sasha West, Chris L. Terry and Nina McConigley. The show is FREE and starts at 10am at the Paramount Theater in downtown Austin.
