Words In Your Face is praised in “Suss: Another Literary Journal”
Earlier in the year, Cristin’s poem “Not As Smart As I Think I Am” appeared in the fantastic literary journal, Suss. So imagine her surprise when her book, Words In Your Face was given a shout out in the Suss “Gossip” section. Cristin to Host & Perform at “Not a Muse” Reading
Cristin is thrilled to be hosting and performing at the U. S. launch of “Not A Muse” (Haven Press, 2009), which is an international anthology of poetry exploring the inner lives of women in a post-feminist era. “Not A Muse” is about women’s choices, how they define themselves as women and poets, and how these poets define freedom. Come hear Not A Muse contributors such as Kate Bernadette Benedict, Ann Cefola, Adele Geraghty, Sarah Getty, Jennifer Karmin, Linda Leedy Schneider, Sarah Stapperfenne, and Jeanann Verlee bring their poetry alive onstage. Cristin is thrilled to be hosting the annual NYC-Urbana iWPS invitiational, which sees the best of the best of Urbana compete to represent us at the 2009 Individual World Poetry Slam championship, held this October in San Francisco. Essay by Cristin appears in the latest issue of HUMOR
Cristin is proud to announce the publication of her first scholarly article, which appears in the latest issue of the academic journal, “HUMOR” with guest editors Denise Duhamel and Salvatore Attardo. The issue is a special issue about humor in contemporary American Poetry, and Cristin’s work — “Funny Poetry Get Slammed: Humor as Strategy in the Poetry Slam Movement” — appears alongside amazing essays by Tony Hoagland and Daniel Nester.
