Cristin’s reps for NYC-Urbana at the Nuyorican Slammaster Slam
Cristin will battle against other the slammasters of other New York City (and surrounding environs) slams at the birthplace of the New York City Poetry Slam movement: The Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Show starts at 10pm at the Nuyo (236 East 3rd Ave) and will feature performances by Chad Anderson and Zork, among others. Shaptowicz to Perform at White Plains Library Slam
Cristin and Shappy (aka Shaptowicz) will co-feature at the White Plains Library Slam, which is run by their poetry pal Zork. In addition to solo work, Cristin and Shappy hope perform some duets. For more information check out the White Plains Library website found here.
Cristin’s “Snips for Tips” Returns for the BPC’s “O’Debbie Awards”
Cristin will be chopping heads at the BPC’s Third Annual “O’Debbie Awards,” which celebrates with homemade statues the amazing and eclectic voices of the Lower East Side performance poetry scene. The show will feature performances by the O’Debra Twins, Shappy, Moonshine Shorey, The New York Howl and a slew of LES’s best ranters and ravers! Plus, excellent new haircuts by Cristin herself! Cristin performs at the Book Expo 2007
Cristin will perform a set of her poetry in support of her forthcoming Soft Skull book, “Words In Your Face.” Soft Skull Press — winner of 2006 AAP Award for Creativity in Indie Publishing — is “one of the most visible and respected alternative houses” (Quill & Quire). Cristin to Perform at the BPC Book Expo Book Release Party
Cristin joins BPC’s own Shappy Seasholtz and Gary Mex Glazner in both welcoming the nation’s indie presses to NYC for the book expo, and celebrating new work by all. Cristin will be debuting for her new TWP volumes. Gary will be celebrating his second book in his “Poet” triology, How to Make a Life as a Poet and Shappy will be debuting his Kapow! anthology, The Ass Menagerie. Cristin to Host and Perform at Urbana Presents GIRLS!
Cristin will be joining a slew of NYC lady poets, including Nicole Homer, Mahogany Browne, Amanda Nazario, Jeanann Verlee, Akua and Leticia Viloria as we celebrate two of the best lady writers in Texas, Genevieve Van Cleve and Susan B. Cristin to host Urbana Finals
Come one, come all to the NYC-Urbana Finals hosted by Cristin and Shappy. The show — which pits some of the country’s best performance poets against each other — starts at 7:15pm, but show up early for good seats and free Magic Hat loot (they are the judging team this year!) Cristin to Perform at NJ “Loser” Slam Finals
Cristin will be performing at Finals of the NJ “Loser” Slam, which is run by her poetry pals Chad Anderson and Nicole Homer. Cristin will be performing a 20 -30 minute set before the sure-to-be blazing finals night slam. For more information check out the Loser Slam’s myspace page here.
Cristin to Perform FREE SHOW with Sage Francis
Cristin will be joining fellow NYC-Urbana poets Taylor Mali and Shappy Seasholtz as opening acts for Sage Francis’s Free NYC show on May 5th. The show, which celebrated the work of artist Sarah Coleman, will take place at the Chelsea Market Art Gallery from 6:00 PM til 8:45 PM. 300 person capacity. First come first serve.ALL AGES.
