Cristin to Perform at Urbana’s Seven Year Anniversary Show

Can you believe it has been seven years since Cristin, Beau Sia, Patrick Anderson and Amanda Nazario founded the little series that could, NYC-Urbana, in the basement of the Gene Frankel Theatre? Now seven years later (and four venue changes later!), Urbana is celebrating its birthday at the Bowery Poetry Club. Urbanites old and new are scheduled to perform, including Cristin who was only 19 when she founded the series and is now a 26-year-old geezer!

Cristin to Lecture and Perform at Hastings College in Nebraska

Cristin has been asked to lecture as a part of an ongoing series of speakers on Terrorism in America being held by Hastings College. Other speakers include Bill Sneas, Liz Porter, Barry Penn-Hollar and Brian Birdwell. On Thursday, Oct 20th, Cristin will speak and perform at the campus chapel on the effect of Terrorism and 9/11 on NYC’s Lower East Side arts community. She will be reading both original poems and poems written by other New Yorkers during this hour long program. On Friday, Oct 21, Cristin will perform an hour long solo performance in a local coffeehouse. More information on time and exact locations forthcoming.

Cristin to participate in the Sloan Film Summit

Thanks for the 2004 HIFF Sloan Fellowship awarded to Cristin’s screenplay, Mütter, Cristin has been invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Sloan Film Summit, which is being hosted this year by the acclaimed Tribeca Film Institute. The Sloan Film Summit will bring together grant recipients for several days of screenings, readings and networking.

Cristin to Attend Gala Opening of MütterMuseum’s Gretchen Worden Gallery

The world lost a wonderful lady and Cristin lost a great friend when Mutter Museum Director Gretchen Worden passed away in August of 2004. Gretchen devoted her entire professional career to revitalizing the Mutter Museum and was instrumental in the creation of the Mütter, Cristin’s award-winning screenplay based on the life of the Mutter Museum founder, Dr. Thomas Dent Mutter. This September, the Mutter Museum will honor Gretchen’s memory with a new Gallery named in her honor and a wonderful new exhibition titled, “A Body of Parts.” Cristin will be in attendance for this gala opening as well as the silent auction of “Gretchenalia,” and encourages all people who live or will travel through Philadelphia to visit this exhibition and celebrate Gretchen’s amazing spirit. “Poems From the Big Muddy,” the National Poetry Anthology which Cristin co-edited, is Released

Following the tradition of the two previous NPS Anthologies, Poetry Slam, Inc (the governing body of the American Poetry Slam) chose from its current community of writers Cristin and playwright / comedian / NPS commentator Jeremy Richards as editors for the annual anthology from its current community of writers. The anthology brings together the best work of the 2004 National Poetry Slam, and includes pieces by Mike Henry, Roger Bonair-Agard, Corbet Dean, Ed Mabrey, Morris Stegasaurus and many, many others. Cristin’s Screenplay Joob is Announced as a Semi-Finalist in PAGE AWARDS

Cristin’s first screenplay Joob finished as a semi-finalist for the PAGE International Screenwriting Award. This year the PAGE Awards received 1,904 entries in this year’s PAGE Awards competition from 48 states and 33 foreign countries, and Joob was chosen as one of 25 semi-finalists for the Family Film Catergory.

Cristin to Compete on TEAM RIVES in NYC-Urbana Grudge Match
