Cristin hosts special Jack McCarthy Tribute Show on the IndieFeed Performance Poetry Podcast
Cristin is thrilled, honored & humbled to have hosted the Indiefeed Performance Poetry Podcast’s special tribute to Jack McCarthy. The centerpiece of the show is, “Victory,” a triumphant new poem by Jack which beautifully illustrates his thoughts as he comes to the end of his life. But following the piece are beautiful testimonies about Jack’s impact and influence from poets, friends and fans from around the country and around the world. Cristin to return as a Visiting Writer to Shady Side Academy
Cristin is honored & excited to be returning to Pittsburgh’s own Shady Side Academy as a visiting writer from Nov 28 – 30th. Cristin will be doing class visits, as well as hosting workshops and the Shady Side Academy Poetry Slam. All events are closed to students only, alas! Cristin Joins Poet Shanny Jean Maney on “I Love Everything” mini-tour of the South
Cristin is excited to touring with the incredible Shanny Jean Maney (author of the amazing “I Love Science“) for mini-tour of the Midwest. Performances dates include workshop & feature at Slam Richmond on Saturday Oct 27th [CANCELLED because of Frankenstorm; to be rescheduled in Jan or Feb]; a feature at Busboys and Poets on Sunday Oct 29th at 8pm at their 4251 Campbell Avenue, Arlington, VA 22206 location [CANCELLED because of Frankenstorm; to be rescheduled in Jan or Feb]; a workshop & feature at Western Kentucky University (in Bowling Green, KY) via their Forensics / Speech team on Halloween; and maybe one more surprise gig in TX (stay tuned). New Poetry by Cristin Appears in The Bakery
Two new poems by Cristin — “Wild Geese” and “Not Doing Something Wrong Isn’t Doing the Same As Doing Something Right” — were selected to be ‘Fresh Out of the Oven’ poem for October at the literary journal, “The Bakery.” Click the titles above to see the poems.
Cristin to feature at NJ Loser Slam
Kicking off a short tour of the East Coast and the South, Cristin will be featuring at the NJ Loser Slam on Weds Oct 17th. The weekly slam is held at Green Planet Coffee Company (731 Hwy 35, Ocean NJ 07712). The show starts at 7:15 (open mic before my set & a slam after), though Cristin will likely be leading a workshop prior to the show starting at 6pm (subject: TBA). Cristin will be Performing at the Word x Word Festival in Pittsfield, Masschusetts
Cristin is thrilled to be returning to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and another incarnation of the Word X Word Festival. Cristin will be performing live, in both solo and ensemble events, and will be joining poets Derrick Brown, Anis Mojgani, Robbie Q.
