Cristin’s Poem Is Fourth Runner-Up in the Hayden Ferry Review Blog Holiday Contest
Cristin’s poem, “The Art of Holiday Spirit: Astoria, Queens,” placed fourth in the Hayden’s Ferry Review blog 2008 Holiday contest. In addition to having the poem published on their website, here, Cristin also won a free, one-year subscription to Hayden’s Ferry Review and a free gift submission as well. Cristin is thrilled as both she believe the Hayden’s Ferry Review and the Hayden’s Ferry Review Blog to be utterly kick-ass.

Cristin to Host Urbana 11th Anniversary Show & DIVA slam
Cristin will host NYC Urbana’s 11th Anniversary show will special performances by some of the best poets through out NYC-Urbana’s history! Following the showcase will be the NYC-Urbana DIVA SLAM, which see NYC-Urbana’s best lady poets battle to be the NYC-Urbana Women of the World Poetry Slam rep! Competing will be Jeanann Verlee, Akua Doku, Arianne Benford, Eboni Hogan and Nicole Homer. AND to top it all off, it’s Cristin’s last night in her 20s — she turns 30 on 11/26 — so there will be cake and maybe some roastin’ & toastin’!! Cristin to Host Page Meets Stage Reading
Cristin will fill in as host for Taylor Mali at his popular reading series “Page Meets Stage” Reading featuring the amazing Ross Gay and NYC’s own Jeanann Verlee. The evening will enjoy performances from both poets as well as a moderated discussion to take place at the end of the night. The show starts at 8pm! Cristin’s Poetry Included in Herding Kites: A Celebration of Australian Writing
Cristin is thrilled to be included in Affirm Press’s anthology Herding Kites: A Celebration of Australian Writing. The book, which is “a frenzied collection of creativity, this unique anthology gathers up the dynamism and raw talent of the young writers and artists who have contributed to [Australia's] National Young Writers’ Festival (NYWF) over the past ten years,” includes short stories, poetry, comics and political satire from dozens of amazing poets and artists, including Cristin’s aussie pals Steve Smart and Alicia Sometimes. You might be able to pick up a copy online, and stayed tuned if the book lands U.S. distribution.
