Cristin’s “Snips for Tips” Returns for Blue Horseshoe Ball
Cristin will chopping heads at the BPC again, but this time for an awesome ROCK SOW organized by Sean T. Hanratty, and featuring performances by three of Cristin’s favorite bands: The New York Howl, Brief View of the Hudson; and the fools. Fancy dress is required! Cristin will be chopping heads during the opening ceremonies of this year’s HOWL Festival! Artwork will be auctioned, poets will be poetizing, drinks will be drunk and hair will be cut! Cristin Hosts 2007 National Poetry Slam Finals
The best of the best of the best of the national poetry slam community will battle poetically on the beautiful Paramount Theatre stage. Cristin to Perform at “Revenge of the Nerds” Legends Showcase at NPS 2007
Cristin will mark returning to her first National Poetry Slam since 2004 with a Friday afternoon performance at the “Revenge of the Nerds” Legends Showcase. She will be joined by other nerdy “slam legends” including Ernie Cline, Shappy Seasholtz, Susan B. Anthony Somers-Willett, Dawn Gabriel and Jeremy Richards, among others. This event is FREE! Cristin will chopping heads to benefit the amazing 2007 NYC-Urbana Slam Team. All proceeds for Snips 4 Tips will go towards the team, as well as all the proceeds for the door and all the proceeds from the auction! Cristin to Host NYC-Urbana’s NYC Regionals
Cristin will serve as emcee for the night when NYC-Urbana battles against other NYC teams louderARTS and Nuyorican as well as the Metronorth line’s White Plains Team on Urbana’s home turf. Cristin to be interview on NPR regarding her recently published (and forthcoming!) books
Cristin will be interviewed live on the NPR show, “City Watch,” the NPR poetry has which is broadcast live every Wednesday 10am – 11am on the NYC NPS station, WBAI / 99.5 FM. City Watch, as part of the Same Boat Coalition, invites guests who are involved with social, economic, political and cultural issues in New York City. “HIS RIB,” the anthology of poetry featuring work by Cristin, is Released!
Cristin poetry has been included in “HIS RIB,” a collection of poems, stories and essays about the fallible woman, the sensitive girl-child and the fearless warrior. The written works featured in this project includes women from both the literary field and the performance poetry circuit, creating a symbiotic kinship between the two art forms. After combing several continents, the women within these pages were found scribing folk tales in California, sonnets in New York, producing prose in London and breaking stereotypes with each stanza in Colorado, Texas and Canada.
